Standards of Excellence for Local Chapters
**State Level Recognition Program**
August 1, 2024 - March 1, 2025

PURPOSE: To support and recognize active local chapters chartered under the Kansas HOSA State Association to be at the highest level of engagement and equipped with policies, procedures and structures on an annual basis to deliver quality service to its HOSA members, protecting the good name of the local chapter, school district, Kansas HOSA-Future Health Professionals and HOSA-Future Health Professionals.

ACHIEVEMENT LEVELS:

Awarded on an annual basis at the State Leadership Conference - all components of the Standards of Excellence must be completed and submitted to the State Office by March 1.


Gold: 90% of standards
Silver: 75% of standards
Bronze: 60% of standards
No Award: 59% or less of standards .             

 

Achievement is described as successfully completing and determining percentage of achievement overall.
 

PROCESS:

Timeline: August 1 to March 1 of each membership year.

Deadline: Self-Assessment table is completed and submitted by March 1.

All required items of the Standards of Excellence program must be submitted to tgoosz@kumc.edu.  
 

The Standards of Excellence for Local Chapters is applied for and awarded annually.
 

Review: State Leadership will review the artifacts provided to determine the final achievement level by using the Local 
 

Standards of Excellence - Criteria Rubric point system.
 

RECOGNITION: 

  1. Local chapters that achieve a gold level rating will be recognized at the State Leadership Conference with a plaque and be eligible for the HOSA Emblem Award. A congratulatory memo from the state advisor and state president will be sent to the local chapter advisor and administrators. 

  2. The HOSA Emblem Award will be presented at the State Leadership Conference to one local chapter from each division earning the highest level of excellence based on total points.

  3. Local chapters that achieve a silver or bronze level rating will receive a certificate in their registration materials at the State Leadership Conference.
